Apostle Willie Thonald Jackson, 82, departed this life for his eternal home on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, VA.
He was born March 1, 1943 in Birmingham, Alabama and later moved to Ohio where he was formally educated. He graduated in June 1961 from North High School in Youngstown, Ohio. Later that month, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. During his service, he fought for his country in the Vietnam War. He received the call for ministry while enlisted in the military. He retired from the U.S. Army after 28 years of dedicated service.
Apostle Jackson loved the Lord. He held the offices of Chaplain, Pastor, Bishop and Apostle in his work in the ministry. He deeply believed in the Five-Fold Ministry and worked to bring as many souls to Christ as possible, especially in the Prison Ministry. He mentored and trained numerous ministers in the Christian faith. He was an exemplary example of living according to God's Word.
Apostle Jackson was a loyal Philadelphia Eagles fan. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed spending time talking with his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Alice Marie Jackson, of 18 years of marriage; his children: France Jackson Ashley (Norvell), Shirley Jackson, Willie Jackson Jr., Diann Gandy (Andre), Dr. Mary Thompson (Jayi), Cynthia Parker (Rahman), Dr. Karyn Ward (Troy) and Marcay Jones; h is brother, Thomas Spivey; and sisters, Katie Jackson, Thelma Church, and Ethel Wayne; h is grandchildren: Ty Robinson, Patrice Thomas, Isaiah Thomas, Willie Johnson, Nijai Williams Kyle Gotay, Josiah Ashley, Jordyn Parker, Solomon Yeldell, and Nahla Jones; and a host of great grandchildren; h is family and friends will continue to love him and cherish his memory.
Viewing will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the Celebration of Life service starting at 12 Noon on Monday, July 7, 2025 at Cooke Bros. Funeral Chapel., 1601-27th Street, Newport News, Va. Interment will be in Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
