Obituary

Anthony Quinn Davis departed this life into eternal rest on March 11, 2024, at the age of 63 after a brief battle with cancer surrounded by his loving wife Sandra Davis in the comfort of his home.  He was the youngest son of Archie and Bertha Davis.

Anthony was born and raised in Hampton, VA.  He attended Pembroke High School where he would meet people that he would call friends for the remainder of his life.  Always the headstrong person that he was and wanting to forge his own path in life; he convinced his parents to allow him to move out and withdraw from high school while he was in the 11th grade.  After a conversation with his parents they conceded on the conditions that he can withdraw from school so long as he was gainfully employed.  Anthony obtained his General Education Diploma (GED) which allowed him to pursue additional avenues of employment.  Through this he was able to find his employment niche as a pipefitter in the maritime industry.  Anthony joined First Baptist Church Morrison at an early age.

Anthony worked ten years for Newport News Shipbuilding followed by ten plus years for the Norfolk Naval Shipyard as a certified pipefitter, including eight plus years as a certified nuclear waste water lead specialist.  Anthony enjoyed working and worked until his health no longer permitted him to do so, which resulted in his early retirement.

Anthony enjoyed many hobbies that included his love for cars, his love for music, and his favorite hobby of them all, his acoustic drum set. His various hobbies have resulted in quite the list of assorted vehicles over the years as well as an extensive collection of music.  On his days off he could often be found washing one of his many vehicles followed up with an extensive jam session on his drum set.

Always willing to lend a helping hand, Anthony loved his family and friends and would do anything and everything that was possible to help in anyway that he could whenever they needed him.  More than anything, he especially loved spending time with his mom, siblings, and children when he could:  His first child, a son, Anthony Quinn Jubray with Tina Jubray Cooper; his daughters, Quinda Michelle Davis and Tasha Alice Davis with the late Odella Fay Davis; his youngest son Patrick Dante Davis and his stepson Keith Johnson with the late Christine Davis; and his stepdaughter, Shana Brown with Sandra Flood Davis.

Anthony is preceded in death by his beloved father Archie B. Davis Sr.  He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Sandra Flood Davis; four children; two step-children; 12 grandchildren; his mother, Bertha Davis; eight siblings; Nancy Carolyn Jones (Jimmie), Jacqueline Denise Pope (Wilbert), Archie Davis Jr., James Eric Davis (Salome), Robert Cornelius Davis (Stephanie), Walter Leon Davis (Edna), Debra Jean Davis, and Audrey Davis; one aunt, Rev. Marion Kirby, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
