Mr. Andrew Jackson Peartree entered into eternal retirement on Thursday August 22, 2024 at his home surrounded by family.  Andrew was born to the late Andrew Sr. and Louise B. Peartree on August 29, 1946 in Newport News, Virginia.

Andrew was educated in the Newport News Public School system. He worked for many years with the Hampton Roads Sanitation and Cooke Bros. Funeral Chapel while he was self employed.

Andrew enjoyed traveling with his wife Shelia especially in his motor home. He loved fishing and he loved his football. He loved spending time with his family.  Large gatherings were his favorite.  He was always dreaming of a new adventure.

Andrew was proceeded in death by his son, Timothy Peartree; and daughter, Laura Frink; sisters, Cynthia Walker, Teresa Caine and Barbara Peartree; brothers, Walter Peartree and Tyrone Peartree.

Andrew is survived by his loving wife, Shelia Peartree; daughters, Rosalyn Jackson (Vincent) and Rachel Holmes of Virginia; sons, Adrian Peartree of Virginia and Jeffrey Peartree (Tonya) of Maryland, stepson's Avery Smith (Michelle) of North Carolina and Cole Smith (Amber) of Georgia and Ronald Crump of New York; two sisters, Gladys Peartree and Viola Peartree of Virginia; three sisters-in-law, Sandra Wade (Kelevine), Sharon Woodfolk and Shelly Smith (Zachery); 18 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Viewing will be held Friday, August 30, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m at Cooke Bros. Funeral Chapel, 1601-27th Street, Newport News, Va. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August  31, 2024 at the funeral chapel. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
