Andre Graves was born on August 23, 1975 in Hampton, Virginia (LAFB) to Betty Graves and the late Troy Graves. He was raised in Newport News, Virginia and graduated from Warwick High School in 1993.
Those who knew him remembered him for his love of family and friends unwavering dedication, commitment, and passion of healthy eating. He carried himself with confidence and compassion. Andre was known for his musical talents, medicines, herbs and positive energy. He was also well-known for his commitment to living a healthy lifestyle, nourishing his body with wholesome nutrition and inspired others to do the same. He continuously poured into his community offering guidance, healing and encouragement to family, friends and a few known celebrities. Andre defined Alkatrician as an instrument of healing and a facilitator in the healing process who helps individuals to integrate self-care, self-responsibility, and reflections in their lives. He was devoted to his work and shared his intelligence and knowledge with everyone around him. His life was a testament to wellness, generosity and love.
Andre is preceded in death by his father Troy Graves, his maternal grandparents Mildred and Eugene Womack, his paternal grandparents, Alice and Troy Graves, and his Uncle Roy Graves. He leaves to cherish his memory in his mother Betty Graves, daughter Aniylah Graves-Keys, his sisters Carla Carney, Tracie Wesson and Trana McEachern, a special niece Destiny Deloatch, his Aunts Karen Holloman (Quinton), Claudia Womack, Clementine Manley, Brenda Medley (Royal), Pamela Spain (Andre), and Tyne Womack. Uncle Anthony Womack (Sheila), and a host of family and friends, and a special brother Andre Williams "Brah".
He started the journey to becoming a Plant-a-tarian years ago and he stood by those principles until the end of his life's journey. Andre's true joy came from his passions: Jamaica, Music, Watching the sunrise, Intense love for family and being a member of CruThik.
Viewing will be held Monday, December 8, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Cooke Bros. Funeral Chapel, 1601-27th Street, Newport News, Va. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at Sixth Mt. Zion Baptist Temple, 3100 Butternut Drive, Hampton, Va.
