Alvin Michael Spruill was born on December 18, 1954 at Donaldson Air Force Base in Greenville SC. Known for his big smile and friendly demeanor,  to know him was to love him.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents Herman and Alice Spruill and his brother Herman "Dickie" Spruill.

Mike is survived by his wife Darcel Carson Spruill of Newport News, 3 children: Araka "Khandi" Benson and her husband Michael and grandsons Michael TD and Jaden of Bowie MD,  son Timothy Spruill Sr and his wife Lynda Robinson Spruill and grandchildren Chyna, Tim Jr., Amaya, Kyle and Jaden of Laurel, MD., And Darryl Spruill and granddaughter Carmen of Ellicott City MD along with  their mother and ex-wife Julia Haggar. Three stepchildren: Shawntay and Cowan Carson and Aquita Lyons of Newport News.  One brother Timothy Spruill, 1st of Tampa FL, two sisters Rosalyn Spruill Manning if Tampa, FL and Eloise Collins of Newport News and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at Hampton National Cemetery on Wednesday July 19 at 10am.  Repass announced at service.

Special thanks to cousins Roger Brown, Alyce Pierce, and Tonya and Dennis Gillard for their end of life support and Kathleen, Enjoli, and Julia Haggar for helping with funeral preparation.
